What we were asked to do
We were asked to develop a full event proposition for the 2025 Maggie’s Treks, including naming and design for all three events: the Pentlands, Edale, and London Night Hike. The proposition needed to inspire and motivate visitors, organisations, and members of the public to sign up for the challenge. Each event supports Maggie’s Centres and raises vital funds for people affected by cancer.

What we did
We began by researching to inform the event proposition and naming strategy, presenting several options for the client to choose from. Once the direction was confirmed, we refined the proposition and creative approach before developing the design concepts. After approval, we produced layouts for all required assets.
Our creative output included a suite of marketing materials such as leaflets, flyers, social media posts, and merchandise assets, along with a short set of brand guidelines for future events.
This work created a cohesive marketing toolkit for Maggie’s Treks, designed to promote the events, engage participants, and support continued fundraising and brand growth.

What they thought
The products development of the Miles for Maggie’s series has been excellent. We had a specific challenges planned for the year and these have been pulled together under the umbrella hikes series of Miles for Maggie’s.
It was great to work with Yarn to shape our design, proposition and much more to land on a event series we we’re really happy with.
This thinking has been shared with many of my colleagues at Maggie’s and result in us raising almost £200,000 combined with all of our MFM events.
We know that for many of our centre visitors, setting themselves a manageable challenge is really important for something to strive towards, these challenges were exactly that.
Thanks to the team at Yarn for the support on this product, excited to see how this grows year on year.
