What we’ve done
The Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) is a charity and network of more than 130 member organisations, parents, and clinicians. They all work to ensure that every family affected by perinatal mental health problems has access to high-quality, compassionate care and support. For over a decade, we’ve partnered with MMHA to provide copywriting support. Much of this work has centred on bringing to life the voices and stories of lived experience champions affected by perinatal mental illness.
We’ve also supported the charity by writing website copy and editing research reports, helping to make their work clear, accessible and impactful.

What this means
Bringing to life the voices of the charity’s lived experience champions begins with carefully reading the submission forms shared by people who have experienced, or been affected by, perinatal mental illness. Many of these women come from marginalised communities, where the risk of perinatal mental illness is higher and access to appropriate support is often more limited. Through this work, we’ve gained deep insight into how the health system continues to fall short in meeting the mental health needs of these women and their families.
